Kate says: I love the simplicity of this outfit. I spend so much thought trying to put together intricately layered outfits… sometimes it’s nice to keep it simple! This graphic print skirt goes so nicely with rich solid colors, and I love it paired with this royal blue top and purple flats.

Mom is showing a great example of how to start transitioning your maxi dresses into fall. It’s almost scarf season again! Her blue leopard print scarf adds a nice pop of color and pattern to her cute nautical striped dress. This is also a great example of flattering horizontal stripes – the way they get wider as they go down the dress is very flattering.

Jeanne says: I really like how this ensemble turned out. The scarf was my inspiration for the outfit – usually it is the other way around and I add a scarf to an outfit I’ve already planned. I love this maxi dress but it needs a belt because it is WAY too long. In any case, I felt very good when this outfit was all pulled together!
Kate continues to hit her clean and simple hot weather looks out of the park. I am way too matchy-matchy to wear a blue blouse with a black and white skirt, but I love how it looks here. I’d probably add a more colorful statement necklace but, as we know, that’s just me.

For half a second, I thought Jeanne was wearing a crop top! I mean, if any momma can get away with it, it’s her! Love that maxi + belt combo though. And thanks for the guest post on SMT today!
