Jeanne says: I deliberately got this skirt to wear to work going with the “daytime sequin” look. Then I found out that it was hard to make an outfit from this nude/beige color. When in a jam, black always works so here I am with nude, black and white mixed together. I like how the sequins look for daytime; now I just have to find some other color combinations!
Kate’s little skirt is darling. There is nothing like a flippy little skirt with faux leather trim to take the edge off winter. I love this skirt combined with black, but it looks like it could go with a lot of other fun colors. I also love the pop of red that her shoes provide. She could also experiment with a checked or striped top with this patterned bottom. I would love that look.
Kate says: I usually avoid “blogger trends”, but after seeing this skirt pop up on a couple blogs, I was smitten. I love this new skirt shape that is so in right now — it’s cheeky and fun, and flattering to most shapes. And Mom is right — this tweed pattern gives me lots of potential color combos to play with!
Mom’s sequin pencil skirt is great — I was looking at a lot of those around the holidays. I actually prefer this nude metallic shade to the true yellow golds that are out there. I think she has many more color options — I would just stick with truly saturated colors to provide a good contrast. Her stripes are also a great choice!
