Fashion Week Street Style: What Can We Learn?

Fashion weeks are always fashion-overload to me.  On one hand, I’m scouring the designs coming down the runways and on the other hand I’m devouring the street style photos.  And it’s ultimately the street style that interests me the most.  I mean, who can worry about style that won’t hit the stores where ordinary people shop for another 6-8 months?

Consequentially it is the street style trends that fascinate me the most.  Here are a few that speak to me:

Colorful (and often long and less form-fitting) coats: and many of them are gorgeous and very pricey.  Check out a few at reasonable prices below!

Anya Ziourova and Eva Chen NYFW

Simple, longer loose-fitting clothes: I grant you that this is not a look for everyone, but I love the return to a simple look devoid of too many flourishes.

Aymeline Valade NYFW

Flat shoes: Could be boots or sneakers or even lace-up ghillies, but comfort seemed to prevail. To a point, I can get into this and then I MUST have a heel.  Also a repeat of looser-fitting apparel AND interesting sleeves on her blouse.

Culottes: another take on loose fitting, comfortable clothes – and look at that fabulous white blouse.

Animal print drama: As if we ever thought this look would die.

Vanessa Traina NYFW

Ongoing emphasis on “it” designer bags: Again, as if we thought this trend was going away!  The Real Real here I come!

But I have to say the look below is my absolute favorite:  bright colors, a little form-fitting but not too much, unexpected flair in those pink booties – I am in love!
