What Jeanne Wore: Mixed-Pattern Shirt Dress

H&M dress (similar), vintage belt (similar), Steve Madden shoes, vintage necklaces (similar)

Be still, my heart.  This dress is THE best!  Its pattern, as you can see in these pictures, is vibrant as are the colors.  There are slits on the sides plus an opening below the buttons in the front so, even though the dress is long, it is airy and even a little sexy.  PLUS I will also wear it as a long jacket/duster and maybe even over skinny jeans.

It is a perfect example of the beautiful and inexpensive interpretations of high end fashion that H&M can do so well.  I buy maybe 3-4 things a year at H&M and I’ve learned over the years not to “leap” at something ordinary and cheap.  I wait for beauties like this!

Love this dress. I wish I could find a couple like it with shorter sleeves.

Remember you could have the sleeves shortened by a tailor or you could roll the sleeves up which I do virtually every day! All the best, Jeanne

Love the dress. And those Steve Madden shoes. I have really narrow feet and have tried on several pairs of sandals with the ankle strap and chunky heel… to no avail. Yours look great.

Sue – Thanks for your response. I follow your blog and always appreciate your POV. I am so glad I don’t have narrow feet! Keep searching and stay in touch – Jeanne
