I feel a bit like I’m riding off to the hunt in this ensemble; I’m sure it is because I’ve opted for black knee high boots with my black culottes. I love midi culottes but in the winter I have challenges finding the right footwear look. Ankle boots – meh, heels – it depends on the heel, flats – never going to happen.
Aside from this dilemma, I love a voluminous black bottom half with an interesting fitted top and this Gaultier vintage top fits the bill. I have always loved Gaultier’s tops and matching skirts and I’ve found a few on deep sale.
I’m reporting in alone today and I’ve picked a Friday casual look to share. This is pretty much a “drapey” outfit – a loose-cut, slightly see-through sweater and silky pants.
I am always attracted to sweaters like this because they look delicate and would seem to go with everything. But then I try them on and they aren’t very flattering. Because of the seaming in the front, this sweater is more fitted and more polished looking. Good seaming is often the difference between a “meh” look and one I want to take home! It’s my second year wearing these drapey J. Crew pants and they are still winners!
